Wood Duck Festival

Every May, the Lagoon Society hosts the Annual Ruby Lake Lagoon Wood Duck and Wilderness Festival at Ruby Lake Lagoon. The festival is a fun filled day where the community celebrates spring and the return of the Wood Ducks at Ruby Lake Lagoon. The festival brings together local artists and craftsmen, sustainability organizations, good food and musical talent to attract hundreds of participants each year.

On Sunday May 6, 2007, community members are warmly invited to attend the Eighth Annual Wood Duck and Wilderness Festival. This year the festival will include a very special blessing ceremony performed by the Sechelt Nation in honour of Dionne Paul’s beautiful welcoming pole and woven sculpture at the Iris Griffith Centre. Please join us to get a preview of the Artists' Celebration that will be taking place over the summer, view new Iris Griffith Centre exhibits, enjoy delicious food and live music from local musicians, browse local crafts and visit booths with local sustainability organizations.
