Nature School - Roberts Creek Elementary School
Students from Nancy Benmore's Grade 2 class and Bev Craig's Grade 2/3 class, used their weeks at Nature School as a catalyst for a long-term study focusing on animal and plant life cycles, one of the B.C. curriculum science topics.
Back at school, students from both classes worked together to create a giant mural illustrating some of the many exciting things they had experienced during their weeks exploring the Iris Griffith Interpretive Centre and the Ruby Lake Lagoon Nature Reserve.
Two more classes from Davis Bay School and Ecole du Pacifique in Sechelt will participate next May. The Lagoon Society is pursuing further funding so that Nature School can expand in the following year. For more information contact Lee-Ann Ennis at 604-741-7639.
