Giant Hogweed at Pender Landfill - extremely toxic 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I saw a giant hogweed plant today at Pender Landfill, right by the mulch pile. I've contacted Area A Director Graham as well as the SCRD parks department (left messages for both), but this is a very scary plant and everyone needs to be so careful around it! Plus, we don't want it spreading so it needs to be removed asap.

It looks like a giant Queen Anne's Lace. It is very pretty, but if you get any sap on you, it will cause blisters and skin damage, and if it gets in your eyes, temporary or permanent blindness.

Sounds like it will be disposed of quickly (just heard back from Director Graham), but everyone should be on the lookout!
