Dr Michael Jackson, Chair.
Michael has a wealth of experience in conservation, wetland ecology, educational instruction, writing and project management as well as sound business acumen. As the managing director of a book business in central London and as a production manager in theatre and television, he has the ability to work together with large teams of people to achieve a common aim. He is a Research Associate with the University of British Columbia and runs his own wetlands consultancy that specialises in habitat restoration and natural methods of mosquito control.

Dr John Field, Vice Chair.
John is a Science Instructor at Capilano College Campus in Sechelt and a well-known local natural history expert. He is experienced in course design and programming, nature guiding and field instruction. He leads many courses and has a strong ability to bring out the most in his students.

Jeff Howlett, Treasurer.
A professional business consultant and financial advisor, Jeff has extensive experience in research, business writing, strategic analysis, corporate finance, financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and valuation work.

Dale Jackson, Secretary and Director.
Dale has been living on the Sunshine Coast since 2001. Moving here from London UK, she is keen to promote private land protection and conservation of this beautiful area. She helps coordinate the land agreements, the re-zoning application for the Centre and arrangements for the nature reserve with The Land Conservancy the conservation covenant holders. With a background in law from England she is now appointed as a Marriage Commissioner on the Sunshine Coast and also runs Blue Waters Book Shop in Madeira Park.

Jim Rossi, MSc Biochem, Director.
Originally from California Jim studied botany, and chemistry at Humboldt State University where he was inspired by the unique ecology of the Redwood forests in the area. Jim later completed his thesis on marine natural products chemistry which focused on unique potential biomedicinals from marine botanical sources.
He currently is Program Convenor of the Scuba Instructor Program and teaches environmental stewardship at Capilano University. Jim lives in Halfmoon Bay with his partner Pam and son Jordan. His passions are SCUBA, mountain biking and music.

Billy Griffith, Director.
Billy has been a resident of Egmont B. C. for almost 70 years. Fisherman: ling cod, black cod, halibut, herring, prawns, and salmon, only prawns and salmon since license limitation. Past president Egmont community club and past president Pender Harbour and District Wildlife Club. A member of Lions club. 16 years on the board of Pender Harbour Health Centre, member of Community Health Council, board member of Fisheries Renewal, more than 20 years on salmon enhancement volunteer work, president Skookumchuck Heritage Society, and now board member of the Lagoon Society.

Cindy Cantelon, Director.
A successful business owner, Cindy Cantelon runs two businesses. Copper Sky Gallery and Café is a restaurant and catering business including wireless internet access and gallery space filled with works from over 50 local and BC artists and artisans, from glass and metal arts to paintings, photographs, fibre arts, and poetry. Earthly Creatures Home and Garden Sculpture features artistic creations of Cindy and her partner Marshall Mar, including metal garden art, jewelry, accessories and sculptures.

Brigit Garrett, Director.
A resident of the Sunshine Coast since 1990, is a qualified massage therapist and a self-motivated small business proprietor. She is a mother of 3 boys and has strong ties and commitment to the Pender Harbour community. For many years she has been a volunteer with the Madeira Park Elementary School.

Maureen Parrott, Director.
The oldest daughter of Billy and Iris Griffith, Maureen loves words and learning, but is most enthralled by marine life and all kinds of natural history. Maureen fished commercially for salmon with her family on her Dad's 56' seine boat. Together with her fiance, Paul Juffs, and son Michael, Maureen spent a year travelling aboard Canada's first semi-submersible boat (a vessel with underwater windows - built by Paul and used to show shipwrecks in Lake Huron) through The Great Lakes, Erie Canal, Hudson River, and Intra-Coastal Waterway, and returned overland by way of Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. The semi-submersible will be used to show off the underwater world of Egmont.

Anne Clemence, Director.
Anne trained as a Registered Nurse in London U.K., came to Canada in 1961 and began work at the Garden Bay Hospital. She left her nursing career thereafter to join her partner in the log salvaging business and has travelled much of the BC Coast through her work and for pleasure on her sailboat. She loves the wilderness and would like to see more protected areas. As the past President of the Pender Harbour Wildlife Society she was an important support in establishing Iris Griffith Centre and her continuing support includes sharing the results of two passions, baking and gardening.
